Marple Civic Society is a Society concerned with the environment in both the town and the surrounding Green Belt coutryside, and in making it a pleasanter place for us all to live and work.
We live and work in Marple, near Stockport, Cheshire, and the Marple Civic Society covers not only the town of Marple itself but includes Marple Bridge, High Lane, Strines and Compstall with a total population of about 27,000.
We aim to improve local amentities, new development and also protect our heritage. The Marple Civic Society is a Registered Charity (Number 236593), which raises funds from events within the area and seeks funds from other sources to meet our aims.
