Notes from Marple Area Committee 2024
Marple Area Committee is a meeting run by Stockport Council to provide an interface between local councillors and the public on matters of local importance. Marple Civic Society attends all meetings and
produces brief notes in advance of the formal Council minutes (see full info here)
Greening, Biodiversity and Climate
Creating nature-rich green spaces, tree planting and other such interventions will make Marple more pleasant both now and in the future. We've selected some key documents that explore this topic and form the background to our "Greening Marple" initiative.

The Leisure and Community Hub is surely the most significant development affecting Marple for many years. All important documents we have about this project

All Things Planning
How planning matters are handled in Marple is influenced by national planning policy.

Stockport Local Plan
The Council have a responsibility to produce a local plan and this in preparation. It will be used to help decide on planning applications and other planning related decisions for the next 15 years.

Marple Neighbourhood Plan
A Neighbourhood Plan has been prepared by the Neighbourhood Forum (a group of interested local individuals) and has been reviewed by a government official.
Links are provided to the Neighbourhood Plan website where the plan can be downloaded.
